On the night his parents were killed, Bruce Wayne realized that all life is sacred and he vowed never to lower himself to the level of the criminals he fights.
So Bruce Wayne trained himself to overcome gun-toting criminals by using their own tactics of fear, brute force and the cover of night against them in non-lethal ways. As the Batman, he uses fear to intimidate criminals by disguising himself as a powerful, larger-than-life creature of the night that is difficult to see, which makes him impossible to anticipate or escape from.
He also designed an arsenal of creative tools and weapons to help him evade the traps set by criminals as well as to apprehend them so they can be sent to Arkham Asylum for rehabilitation.
BATMO INSIDER SECRET
There are two guns that pop out of the Batmobile’s front fenders – they are never used against people, they are only used for non-lethal purposes like: shooting open a blocked passageway, blasting away road blocks or debris set up by Batman’s arch enemies (like the Joker or the Riddler), to neutralize a criminal’s bomb so that it cannot harm anyone, etc.
